What is Short-Term Open Access and Who Qualifies?

What is Short-Term Open Access?

Short-Term Open Access (STOA) allows eligible commercial and industrial consumers to bypass their local distribution utility and procure electricity directly from power exchanges such as PXIL. Transactions are settled on a Day-Ahead or intra-day basis, giving access to real-time market pricing.

Who Qualifies?

Eligibility is based on sanctioned load — consumers above the threshold set by their state regulator can apply. The consumer must also have appropriate metering and a valid connectivity agreement with the state grid.

The Role of a PXIL Facilitator

A registered facilitator like EnerTsoL handles the full process — from PXIL registration to bid placement and settlement coordination.
